George Balogh | Managing Director
George Balogh joined SpectraSensors in January 2003 as the Chief Executive Officer. Up until that time, George was Senior Vice President and founder of the Passive Telecom Group at Spectra-Physics, a $30M division of a publicly traded corporation. He brings 23 years of management experience in optical components and instrumentation industries to the company. In his past 13 years at Spectra-Physics, Balogh was responsible for developing and executing the company’s optical component and thin film product strategies. His previous experience spans manufacturing, finance, and engineering management positions, with a track record of accomplishments at Varian Associates, Inc., and Crown Zellerbach. He is also a past President of the Lasers and Electro-Optics Manufacturers Association (LEOMA). Mr. Balogh holds a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
Dr. Alfred Feitisch | VP, Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Feitisch adds over 25 years of experience in senior management, business development, entrepreneurship and expertise in development, design and fabrication of lasers and laser based instruments to SpectraSensor’s management team. Prior to joining SpectraSensors, he served as CEO of Comlase NT AB. He became one of the founders of this Sweden based start up, productizing ultra high power semiconductor laser technology, after a 14 year career in senior management, business development and engineering at Spectra-Physics in Mountain View, California. At Spectra-Physics, he served as Vice President & General Manager of Spectra-Physics Semiconductor Lasers in Tucson, Arizona (formerly known as Opto Power Corporation), as Vice President & General Manager of Spectra-Physics Active Telecom Systems, Business Unit Manager for Ion Laser Plasma Tubes and various engineering, marketing and operations management positions. Dr. Feitisch holds a Ph.D. in Physics and Lasers from the University of Hannover, Germany. He started his first company in 1984.
Jorge Jones | VP, Chief Operating Officer
Jorge Jones has 25 years of prior experience in a diverse blend of general management, sales and marketing, and business development roles in entrepreneurial start up businesses as well as large corporations such as Emerson. Jones received an MBA degree from Rice University, Houston Texas in 2005 and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional, Bogotá, Colombia.
Dr. Mike Dyar |
Mike Dyar is the senior financial executive for SpectraSensors, Inc. Prior to joining SpectraSensors, Dr. Dyar was the Chief Financial Officer of Direct Drive Systems Inc, then a venture-backed, start-up company, producing high-speed, high-power permanent magnet motors and generators. Dr. Dyar was instrumental in the 2009 exit / sale of Direct Drive Systems to FMC Technologies. Previously, Dr. Dyar served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Consolidated Precision Products, a privately owned, multi-national manufacturer of high-quality, precision engineered castings and assemblies for the global aerospace and defense industries. Dr. Dyar’s efforts at Consolidated Precision Products lead to the 2008 exit to a large private equity firm. Dr. Dyar has held senior level financial positions with both privately held organizations and divisions of Fortune 500 companies (Avery Dennison and Dover Corporation). His scope covered accounting and finance, information technology and human resource functions in the United States, Europe, Mexico, Canada and Asia. Dr. Dyar also has proven skills in system integrations from the shop floor through to the ERP level. He has a balanced business background with expertise in operational data and manufacturing informational requirements as well as the fiduciary accounting needs of the board of directors and investment community. Dr. Dyar has expert level experience in due diligence, acquisition financing and accounting and post merger integration activities on seventeen acquisitions and two exit / liquidity events.
Dr. Dyar holds a CPA license in the state of California. He received his Master of Business Administration from Clemson University in South Carolina and his doctorate from the University of La Verne’s school of organizational leadership. He has three adult children, and currently lives in Southern, California with his wife, Brenda.
Bryce L. Ford | VP, Atmospheric Programs
Bryce L. Ford joined SpectraSensors in February 2010 as Vice President of Atmospheric Programs, leading the new SpectraSensors office in the Washington DC metro area. Bryce brings over 26 years of experience in the global Weather and Environmental community serving in various roles including Program Management, Business Development, Functional Management, Systems and Software Engineering.
Prior to joining SpectraSensors, Bryce served at Lockheed Martin MS2 for 10 years as a Sr. Business Development Manager and Engineering Project Manager for Meteorological and Hydrological programs in domestic and international markets. Prior to this he served for 16 years at Harris Corporation in various roles supporting U.S. FAA, Defense, and Commercial customers with weather information systems and weather data services. Bryce is a Council Member of the association of the HydroMeteorological Equipment Industry, HMEI, and has served on the Board of Directors for an international Joint Venture company in Beijing China. In 2008 Bryce was invited by the U.S. National Weather Service to serve on the U.S. Government Delegation to the 60th World Meteorological Organization Executive Council. Bryce began his career in 1978 at Boeing Company in Wichita KS, after graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Physics.
