The company’s products are designed specifically to improve process efficiency in refineries and chemical plants. Process efficiency is a highly critical yet often overlooked means of reducing environmental impacts from energy and chemical production. Improved process efficiency enables lower maintenance costs, more accurate measurements, faster response times and more economic value with fewer materials and waste. Using tunable diode laser (TDL) technology that has been proven in the harshest real-world environments, SpectraSensors’ solutions successfully measure and monitor gas and petrochemical concentrations in a variety of applications such as environmental, energy, water, and chemical process monitoring. SpectraSensors uses TDL technology in conjunction with absorption spectroscopy in an array of products such as ambient air monitoring analyzers, moisture analyzers (hygrometers), dew point analyzers, and hydrogen sulfide analyzers, gas analyzers for natural gas pipelines, petrochemical refineries, environmental technology, and gas quality applications. Typical applications include gas quality and energy measurements (H2O, CO2, H2S) in natural gas, trace moisture and hydrogen sulfide in refineries and petrochemical plants, and airborne moisture and other atmospheric measurements from commercial aircraft for the U.S. and international weather services. Incorporated in 1999, SpectraSensors is a technology spin-off of the NASA/Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA.
