The Acadiana Flow Measurement Society was started in 1965 by a group of pipeline and production personnel with help from the University of Southwest Louisiana. The society was chartered to advance the study of gas measurement. However, the society has since expanded to include liquid and NGL measurement.
For over 20 years, the society has produced a measurement short course and exposition each spring. The short course uses a seminar format of 45 minute presentations. The presentations are measurement specific in nature.
