SpectraSensors will participate in the 58th Annual ISA Analysis Division Symposium in Galveston, Texas on April 14 – 17, 2013. This long-running symposium offers a forum for the discussion of innovative processes, along with analytical techniques, developments and applications.
Greg Lankford, Director of Business Development at SpectraSensors, will present a paper on Tuesday, April 16 at the 3:30 pm General Session. Lankford will discuss the basics of Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) analyzer technology, the ability to obtain rapid and accurate moisture measurements even in the presence of methanol, and the positive financial benefits that can be achieved by the plant by improving overall operational efficiency.
New plants and expansions benefit from modern automation and control strategies enabled by state-of-the-art online analyzers. For plants that have been operating for decades, improvements may be achieved through the integration and implementation of modern automation and control strategies enabled by TDL analyzers. Lankford will discuss how SpectraSensors’ on-line TDL moisture analyzer was installed at a gas plant in Oklahoma to monitor dryer bed performance. The data is used to protect the cryogenic unit and has helped determine the most effective frequency of dryer regeneration. The result has been an increase in operator confidence, reduction in fuel consumption and the frequency of molecular sieve bed regeneration, thereby extending the molecular sieve life. Longer term, the optimized operation will have fewer upsets and freeze-ups.
Attendees can visit SpectraSensors’ booth #102 to learn more about their process gas analyzers for measuring trace gas components.
